Hi, my name is Marco and I'm the founder and one of the owners of PDXFIT. Over the last decade I've gained the knowledge, skills, and experience that has allowed me to help hundreds of people achieve their health and fitness goals.

We all step in the gym for different reasons but I believe that with proper goal setting and training we can all walk out of the gym feeling stronger and more confident. Whether you're looking to lose a few pounds or you're wanting to take your training to the next level, I have a program that'll work for you. 

In my spare time I like to go on bike rides with my family, watch Rick and Morty, and grab beers with friends.

OWNER/COACH

Hi! My name is Leslie Takaki and I am one of the owners and COO of PDXFIT. My background is in health communication and sport and performance psychology. I have over 10 years of experience in health research and outside of running operations and coaching sessions at PDXFIT, I am the director of research as well as adjunct faculty at the University of Western States.

I excel at making sure athletes are performing their movements properly but that they are getting the most out of their workouts. As a coach, I love seeing the look on athlete’s faces when they complete a task that they didn’t think was possible. Witnessing an individual overcome a barrier, either mentally or physically, is extremely rewarding. In addition, I enjoy the science behind what we do and how the body functions.

I love school and can’t seem to get enough. I would absolutely describe myself as a nerd who enjoys impromptu brainstorming sessions and research collaborations. My favorite areas of interest include athlete perception and satisfaction, functional fitness, alternative medicine, and exercise treatment interventions. I truly believe in the mission of PDXFIT, which is to empower as many people as possible through the fundamentals of strength and conditioning. It has changed my life and I am so excited to be able to do that with others.  

In my spare time I enjoy going on adventures with my family, making messes with my daughter, and spending an afternoon cuddled up on the couch with my cats. 

CoACH COREY

I have been in the fitness industry for the better part of 10 years. I originally started as a personal trainer specializing in mobile personal training. From there I began my career in coaching CrossFit. 
 
I am formerly certified through the ISSA as a fitness professional and currently have a CrossFit Level 2 training certificate. 
 
As a coach I believe my biggest strength is my interpersonal skills. Having a connection with each person that comes into the gym is very important to me because they are essentially putting their health and well-being in my hands and I want to reciprocate that with a kind, caring and positive attitude. 
 
When I'm not coaching or working out I enjoying the simple life. Hanging out with the family and playing lots of videos games!

Coach heidi

I’ve been involved in CrossFit and strength-based fitness classes since 2014, and I’ve been coaching since 2018. I’m a Certified Level 1 CrossFit (CF-L1) Trainer, have a master’s degree in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine, and am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Oregon. 
 
As a coach, I’m passionate about teaching athletes proper form and body awareness in strength training and gymnastics, finding solutions for scaling and mobility, figuring out proper pacing and stimulus to get the most out of your workout, and I love Strongman training and lifting awkward things. 
 
I’ve been competitive in both CrossFit and Strongman competitions locally, placing 2nd as an individual in the intermediate division at the Festivus Games in 2017, 2nd with my team at the local Kill Cliff Granite Games Throwdown in 2018, and placed first in my weight division at Oregon’s Strongest Lumberjack in 2019.
 
When I’m not coaching or training, I work at Naked Acres Farm in Beavercreek, OR - tending to livestock, growing organic veggies, and using those fresh ingredients to create nutritious, seasonal meals to share on my blog and with my nutrition clients. I hope to have my own little farm in the future, where I can combine my love for growing veggies and helping others achieve a healthy relationship with food and the land it grows on - and where my two mini Australian shepherds Shaka and Roscoe can run wild!

Coach nick

Fitness is my passion. It has played a major role in my life for 10 years. I have been directing group fitness for 7 years. During those 7 years I have worked with people of all ages and capabilities from boxing to functional fitness. The turning point in my fitness career was in 2017 when I received my Crossfit Level 1.

Over the years I have learned a lot about myself as a coach, as an athlete and as a person. As a coach, my main focuses are ensuring high quality movement, safety and having fun! Along with coaching, I am also an athlete. I have been competing in Crossfit for the last 3 years and have done over a dozen local and out of state competitions.

When I'm not in the gym you can find me hiking, biking, running, writing and listening to music. I hope to see you in the gym!

Coach julius

I am a long time fitness enthusiast. My passion for fitness and health has impacted my educational, professional, and personal life. After receiving my Masters in kinesiology from San Jose State University, I hopped right into the field as a collegiate athletic trainer at Hawaii Pacific University. During that time I also worked as a personal trainer, providing both in person and online coaching. My experiences guide my practice and my philosophies. As a trainer, I believe that prevention, care, and wellness should always be complementary to an awesome training program! 
 
During my free time I like to walk my dog, eat good food, and enjoy great company! I’m new to the Oregon area and would love any and all suggestions on things to do.
